Shabby chic is a form of interior design where furniture and decor are either chosen for their age and signs of wear and tear or new items are distressed to achieve the appearance of an antique. Reclaiming old materials is an important aspect of the Shabby chic look and became especially popular with modern Bohemians and artisans that made up a sidelined counter-culture movement during the 1980s as a response to the expensive decor that became very fashionable with the upper middle classes. The original shabby chic interiors were usually considered in themselves works of art.

Our wooden products are handmade in high quality solid wood: Saal (Shorea Robusta), Teak (Tectona Grandis) and Rosewood (Dalbergia Latifolia).
Most pieces are made of reclaimed wood: old doors, ceiling planks, dry docked ships, all yield beautiful timber with a story to tell. The wood keeps its natural distinctive grain and proudly shows the marks of its previous life, thus making of each piece a one-off. In some cases wood is combined with metal from factories or railways finding a new life in the "vintage industrial design".   Learn more
